BGs is a Christian based group for Boys and Girls aged 7-16.  Our aim is to offer a safe environment for the children to build relationships and provide an opportunity for them to have contact with Christians in an informal way.  Over 40% of the children attend church on a Sunday.

Subs are £1 per child, with younger ones allowed 30p for tuck, older ones typically 50p (well they're bigger).

There is significant demand and we have two groups covering school years 2-5 and 6-12.  Both groups have about 30 children on roll with a small waiting list, and we typically get over 50 children attending each week.  BGs meets on Friday evenings between 7pm and 8:30pm.  About once a term we have trips out to the cinema, sporting venues etc.  We also have weekends away for the older children about once a year.

The younger group has a formal programme based on games, stories, sketches and craft..

The older group is based on a less formal "chill-out" format, with the children free to choose between games such as pool and table tennis, guitar & drums teaching (mainly for the boys), dancing (mainly for the girls).  More formal activities including games nights, cooking and discos also occur a couple of times each term.  Take a look at our gallery for a taste of what we get up to.

All adult leaders have completed CRB checks and attended child protection training.  We have also paid for the majority of leaders to attend St.Johns first aid training.
